    To go beyond what an operating system already offers, many Android users opt for rooting their device. In fact, most people who stick with Android OS-running smartphones, do it because of the liberty the OS offers to root and tweak as they wish. And of these people, one of the most commonly cited reasons to root, is to enable system-wide theme support. Typically, this is managed via the Substratum theme framework, which was a part of the CyanogenMod Theme Engine. However, Substratum now supports system-wide themes, and it doesn't require rooting any device running Android 8.0 Oreo. The support will be rolled out within a week. More →
