Instagram now allows uploading Stories via mobile web; here’s how it works

Instagram wants to leave you with no excuses for not using its Stories features. Earlier exclusive to the app, Instagram is now rolling out the ability to add Stories via mobile web as well. Which means, if you don’t have or don’t want to use the Instagram app, you could login through the web browser in you phone and upload stories from there. Up till now, the mobile web app of Instagram was pretty much like the desktop app, plus it allowed you to view other people’s stories, but not upload. You could only view, like and comment on pictures. More →

Uber is investing heavily to achieve more accurate ETAs: Manik Gupta

If you are anything like me, then most of your local travels involve hailing an Uber cab. Home to office, office to meeting up friends, I find taking an Uber the most convenient, and I have been doing this since the past three years now. And with that long-term dependence on the service, I have had my share of experiences with Uber. And one of the most pertinent part of that experience is the ETAs. More →

UberEats app updated with ratings, recommendations and favorites features

From cab rides to food delivery, Uber has come a long way. In May this year, Uber launched its UberEats service in India, which as the name pretty much makes it clear, helps you to quickly order and have food delivered by an Uber driver to wherever you are, from various restaurant partners. While the service hasn’t picked up as much pace in India as Uber probably hoped for, but the company looks adamant on making the service better still. Today, Uber has rolled out three new features for the service, that essentially make ordering on UberEats easier. More →

Stalking for dummies: 5 Hidden Facebook features that are creepy as hell

I am not sure if you have given this a thought, but very quietly and slyly Facebook collects every bit of information from you. Things like who is your sibling, who is your parent, if you are single, if you are in a relationship with someone, when someone on your timeline got engaged, which day which year you liked a post - it keeps a tab of all of it. I am not saying that Facebook necessarily uses all of this information “against” you, but it gives you the full opportunity to misuse it. More →

Here’s how to see every photo you have ever liked on Facebook

    How To
With the On This Day feature, Facebook already shows users a throwback of pictures they posted and the posts they created that day in the past. And if you are big about throwbacks (or stalking), Facebook new lesser-known feature can be very useful (or embarrassing). Basically, Facebook has a tool that can help you go back to every picture you have ever liked on Facebook, as well as all the photos your friends, family and significant other have liked too. That sounds invasive though, doesn’t it? More →

Honor 9i review: A smartphone trying to be perfect

Honor 9i review: A smartphone trying to be perfect

A 5.9-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. A dual-camera setup at the front and back. Premium looking design. And a nearly-budget price tag. When you see a phone like that, it is fair to be impressed, mostly because it tries to offer more for less. While that part is true for the Honor 9i, there is more than what meets the eye. I spent over a week using the new Honor 9i as my primary device, and here’s our full review. More →

Micromax Bharat 1 vs Reliance JioPhone vs Airtel Karbonn A40 Indian: Price, specifications and tariff compared

At an event in New Delhi, Micromax and BSNL launched the Bharat 1 4G feature phone. Priced at Rs 2,200, the feature phone comes bundled with a Rs 97 BSNL unlimited plan, along with support for BHIM app, net banking, and access to media like movies, music, live tv, and videos. Like one would instantly guess, the feature phone does compete against the much talked about Reliance JioPhone. Also comparable is the Airtel Karbonn A40 Indian smartphone, which though does not fall in the feature category, offers similar plans in a similar price segment. More →

iOS 11 overtook iOS 10 with 48.6% installs, soon lost race with a drop to 43%

This is probably one of the best things about using a well-knitted ecosystem like Apple’s. You don’t need to wait for months and even a year to get an OS update. Just three weeks after release, Apple’s latest OS iteration iOS 11, was already installed on 48.6 percent of its devices, which superseded iOS 10’s install base, that was 45.4 percent. But, this was the data that analytics company Mixpanel collected yesterday. Today, when we went back to the analytics, we noticed there was dramatic drop in the adoption rate, which has fallen down to 42.7 percent, with iOS 10 again taking the lead 46.5 percent install base.
