    Internet privacy is a figment of our imagination, and that’s what US Senate ruling teaches me

    I live in India. Am an Indian by nationality, residency and citizenship. I don't see a direct connection with matters of the US, besides amusing news reports that keep cropping up. For that matter, I do not see a direct impact on my life from the developments of the US Senate. Or so I think. On Thursday, the US Senate just made it easier for any internet service provider in the US to share sensitive information about their users. More →

    We love our YouTube. We love our movies. Our music. As long as we have access to these, we're at peace. We don't care how we get to enjoy our movies, TV shows or music. The source is immaterial. Internet connectivity is life. As long as our senses are titillated, we're fine. Switch on the TV or browse through the internet, and you're bound to come across ads from either Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone or Idea Cellular on how their network is the best, and how their data network is the best.     You know you have a powerful product from the attention it receives. A few months ago, Samsung was in the news for the wrong reasons. But I truly believe the worst is in the past.
