    Scientists develop new 5D tech that can detect diseases from pictures taken by smartphones

    Scientists have developed a new 5D technique for analyzing images, an advance that may make it easier to quickly find tell-tale signs of diseases from pictures taken using cell phones. Called "Hyper-Spectral Phasor" analysis, or HySP, it is much faster and far less expensive than current techniques, and may be useful for diagnosing and monitoring diseases by using cell phone images, researchers said. Through the new imaging technology, researchers at the University of Southern California (USC) in the US have used fluorescent imaging to locate proteins and other molecules in cells and tissues.     Digital India: Haryana government to accept electricity bills through online payments

    Giving digital payments a push, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has decided to accept payments of electricity bills exceeding Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) or National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) in two phases. "In the first phase, up to March 31, all payments of electricity bills for more than Rs 25,000 in urban and rural areas will be accepted only through RTGS, NEFT or online mode.     BJP today filed a petition before the Election Commission against the Samajwadi Party's smartphone distribution scheme, saying it amounted to violation of the Model Code of Conduct in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh. In a letter to the chief electoral officer here, senior BJP Vice President, J P S Rathore said SP was continuing with the registration of beneficiaries under its smartphone scheme which was against the mode code. He demanded that the registration of beneficiaries for the scheme should be stopped forthwith.
