    Aadhaar Pay solution for merchants to debut soon with SBI and other banks: Report

    At the time of launching the BHIM app in December last year, PM Narendra Modi also announced that the government will be launching a payments solution for merchants called Aadhaar Pay. The solution is expected to completely revolutionize the digital payments ecosystem in India. It was showcased at DigiDhan Mela to demonstrate how it works, but the launch was delayed due to lack of detailed specifications for registered devices that would be used for accepting payments from merchants.     At Microsoft’s Future Decoded event in Mumbai, CEO Satya Nadella launched the new Skype Lite app for low-end Android smartphones that come with limited processing power and low internal storage. The app is just 13MB in size and has been designed for the Indian market to work on slower 2G networks. Skype Lite also comes integrated with bots platform to pull up information such as news, horoscope and more, without having to use the web browser.     Microsoft Skype Lite launched for low-end Android smartphones and 2G networks

    At its Future Decoded event in Mumbai, Microsoft today launched a new Skype Lite app aimed at low-end Android smartphones. The app is specially designed for countries like India where a lot of smartphone users in rural areas are still on slower 2G networks. At the same time, a lot of users have entry-level smartphones with low-end specifications, and internal storage ranging between 2GB to 8GB. While the Skype app for Android has a file size of about 32MB, the Skype Lite app is just 13MB, meaning users will be able to save some space on their smartphones.
