Nokia teases 41-megapixel Lumia smartphone ahead of July 11 event

Nokia has sort of confirmed that it will be launching a new Lumia smartphone with a 41-megapixel PureView sensor at its NYC event on July 11. The Finnish smartphone vendor today is teasing the phone with a new post on its Conversations blog headlined “41 million reasons to zoom in…” indicating the sensor’s pixel count. Microsoft planning a version of the Surface RT with a Qualcomm CPU: Report

Last year when Microsoft announced the Surface RT last year it was believed to be a tad underpowered running the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core chipset. In fact, this turned out to be true, as the Surface RT developed a reputation to be a rather laggy and the Tegra 3 chipset was known to get overheated and deliver poor battery. Now, a Bloomberg report suggests that Microsoft is working on a model of the Surface RT powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, which means this model will be far from underpowered. ...

After a lot of rumors and conjecture, HTC has announced the Butterfly S at an event in Taiwan which will be the successor to the HTC Butterfly, Engadget reports.  The new device borrows a lot of technology from, the critically acclaimed HTC One including the front facing BoomSound stereo speakers, but it is packaged in an easier to build plastic chassis like the original. Huawei finally launched its Ascend Mate 6.1-inch phablet in India today, and on paper, it has a lot going for it as it has the specs and it has a cracker of a price of Rs 24,900 to back it up. Having said that, it will compete with the mighty Samsung Galaxy Mega, which basically is the most recognisable brand in India, which could make things difficult for Huawei even in the niche 6-inch phablet segment. Samsung has been on a roll with its Galaxy range of smartphones. In fact on the 20th it is expected to launch a slew of new Galaxy and ATIV branded devices, but this seems to be the tip of the iceberg. New iPad photos emerge, looks similar to the iPad mini

Apple is expected to launch the next iPad sometime later this year, but it seems that photos of prototypes are already leaking. Photos have surfaced on chinese social network Sina Weibo suggesting that the next iPad will have a design similar to the iPad mini. This means it will also be thinner and will have a slimmer bezel.
