Loaded with an 800MHz processor, the LG Optimus Hub features a 3.5-inch TFT display, 5.0 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, DivX and Xvid media support, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 1500mAh battery. The folks at UnwiredView seem to have received a premature press release announcing the HTC Rhyme. HTC is scheduled to make the announcement in the US in about three hours from now. Anyway, as expected, it is the Bliss we had seen sometime ago and comes with a range of accessories including the ‘Charm’ – a cube attached to the phone that glows when there is a call or a text message. On the hardware front, we are looking at a 3.7-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display, a 5.0 MP camera with a...

Another day and anoter press photo of an unannounced HTC smartphone surfaces on PocketNow. This time it is the HTC Explorer aka Pico, which seems to succeed the Wildfire S. Rumored specs point at a 3.2-inch HVGA (320×480 pixels) display, a 600MHz processor, a 5.0 MP shooter and 384MB/512MB RAM/ROM. It will run on Gingerbread (Android 2.3.4) with HTC Sense 3.5 UI layered on top. The specs are not stellar, really, but what we are digging is the dotted-finish rear. Hopefully, HTC will announce the Explorer ...

Sensing a tablet fad, Chinese hardware vendors are flooding the market with ultra low cost Android tablets, many of which cost well under Rs 10,000. However, use one of them for five minutes and you’d know that your money’s gone down the drain. Most of these tablets have resistive displays, low memory coupled with weak processors and the poorest quality of plastic you can imagine. It was but obvious, that these thoughts crossed my mind when RCom announced its 3G Tab manufactured by ZTE for Rs 12,9...

HTC is belting out a new smartphone or two every week (Titan, Radar and Sensation XE announced in the last fortnight alone) and now we have the HTC Rhyme aka Bliss destined for HTC’s September 20 announcement. It will also sport HTC’s new Sense 3.5 UI, which certainly looks much cleaner than the older version. Another thing to note is the Rhyme does not have the Beats Audio branding, which could mean HTC will keep that tech solely for its higher end smartphones, at least initially. We are inclined...

A couple of weeks ago, Sony Ericsson had announced its entire 2011 XPERIA range will get updated to Android 2.3.4 that will bring a host of new features, including panoramic 3D sweep that enables users to capture 3D photos on a phone that does not have stereoscopic cameras. It looks like a pretty simple function – simply pan the device across the intended capture area and the camera takes multiple shots and stitches them together to form a 3D picture. Users can then connect the phone to a 3D TV to see i...

Taking a leaf out of Apple’s playbook, Sony Ericsson has announced a faster variant of the XPERIA arc and is calling it XPERIA arc S (where S is for speed). This variant features a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor and the vendor claims it has resulted in 25 percent faster camera startup and media conversion and 20 percent faster web page rendering as compared to the XPERIA arc. The XPERIA arc S will be launched in Q4 this year. Hit the break for the complete specifications. (more…)Google+

Undeterred by the fact that the original Neo did not make it to shelves in most markets, Sony Ericsson today announced the Neo V, which features a 3D panoramic photo capture mode. Running on a single-core Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the Neo V features a 3.7-inch 854×480 pixel touchscreen with Sony’s Bravia Reality display technology, a 5.0 MP camera that can shoot videos in 720p HD resolution and the ability to connect keyboards, mouse or game controllers over USB. A prototype of HTC Holiday showed up on online classified site Craigslist, which reveals a 4.5-inch 960×540 pixel qHD display and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM. The person who bought the device and plastered its images on XDA Developers forum and was picked up by the eagle eyes at Engadget. The Holiday runs on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) and has an 8.0 MP camera on the rear and a 1.3 MP on the front. We can also make out a 3.5 mm audio jack on the top but are not quite sure what the connecto...
