BlackBerry maker, Research In Motion, has updated the SDK for its developers that allows them to add weekly or monthly subscriptions to their apps. The BlackBerry payment service SDK 1.5 generates subscriptions automatically and sends receipts and reminders to users without the developer having to learn any new API. RIM hopes this will enable a slew of newspaper, magazines and cloud-services that require a subscription model. However, only users with BlackBerry App World 3.0 will be able to use apps with subscriptions.
