On 9th January 2007, late Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs took the stage at MacWorld to announce that Apple was re-inventing the phone. He showed a product that now we know as the iPhone, which was released publicly on June 29, 2007. Today, we commemorate the fifth anniversary of the original iPhone. With the original iPhone, Apple showed off many groundbreaking user interface elements that have now become ubiquitous in modern day smartphones. At the same time the original device was missing a number of k...

Ever since Samsung announced the Galaxy Ace Plus a few hours ago, I have not been able to help but think how similar it looks to a phone launched in June of 2008. The iPhone 3G that is. We had reported this over a month ago and now it is official. The iPhone 3GS 8GB has been launched in India for Rs 19,990. Like the iPhone 4, it will be sold unlocked and would run on any GSM network. Yup, we know there will be lot of people who will complain Apple is dumping old products in India, but let’s face it, an iPhone at under Rs 20k is a dream come true for many.Google+

If you thought that the iPhone 4 launch was all that you are gonna hear about from us, well, there is more. We can now confirm that there would be an 8GB variant of the iPhone 3GS on offer along with the iPhone 4 from Aircel and Airtel. The iPhone 3GS 8GB will be priced under Rs 25,000 (we are hearing between Rs 23,000 and Rs 24,000) and will come with plans similar to those on the iPhone 4. Obviously, neither carrier would make much noise about the iPhone 3GS, but to be honest, even the two-year old iPhone h...
