Samsung Galaxy S IV could sport a 4.99-inch 1080p AMOLED display

Somewhere between the flexible display prototype phone and a fridge with Evernote integration at CES, Samsung also announced its next AMOLED display evolution for smartphones that will be launched this quarter. AnandTech spotted a display at Samsung’s booth at CES showing the evolution of the company’s AMOLED displays for smartphones. RIM to launch six BlackBerry 10 devices in 2013

Research In Motion (RIM) will launch at least six BlackBerry 10 smartphones during the course of this year. The BlackBerry maker will announce two high-end smartphones, an iPhone-like all touch and one with a QWERTY keyboard at its global event in New York on January 30 where it will unveil all the features of the new BlackBerry 10 operating system. The company then intends to launch products in the mid-end and entry-level segments later in the year. If we were to name one company that owned CES, it has to be Samsung. From curved televisions to transforming refrigerators to almost getting the toaster refrigerator combo, Samsung came out all guns blazing. But it saved something for the very last, its YOUM flexible OLED display. Samsung announces Exynos 5 Octa processor that will power the Galaxy S IV

At its CES keynote moments ago, Samsung announced the Exynos 5 Octa chipset that will likely power the upcoming Galaxy S IV flagship Android smartphone. CST-01, the world’s thinnest watch announced at CES

ZTE Grand S launched at CES, has a 1080p display and a quad-core chip

ZTE is continuing the trend of 1080p smartphones at CES with the launch of the Grand S. Like some of the other smartphones launched at the show, the Grand S also flaunts a 5-inch 1080p panel, which is becoming a standard for a flagship smartphone. ZTE claims that at 6.9mm it is the world’s thinning 5-inch smartphone, but that’s a claim we have not been able to ratify yet. (more…)Google+

Microsoft sold 60 million Windows 8 licenses since launch

Microsoft today announced it has sold 60 million licenses of Windows 8 just two months after its general availability. The figure includes upgrades and sales to OEMs for new devices, which means the total user base would be lower than 60 million. Like Samsung, Sony has also announced a number of cameras at CES. We basically talking about point and shoot and extended zoom cameras.
