Samsung has cut prices of its popular Galaxy range of smartphones in India. The Galaxy S III received the biggest price drop of Rs 3,000 for both 16GB and 32GB variants, according to our friends at PriceBaba.com. On Flipkart, the Galaxy S III 16GB variant is now available for Rs 31,900 while the 32GB variant is available for Rs 34,900 on Saholic. Samsung today revealed more features for the Premium Suite Upgrade for the Galaxy S III after Jelly Bean update. After revealing that multi-window mode is also coming to the Galaxy S III, the Korean smartphone maker today announced that the Galaxy S III’s camera would get a new low-light shooting mode. Samsung could announce the Galaxy S III Mini on October 11 at a press event in Frankfurt. AllAboutSamsung has received an invite for the event, which has the ‘S’ motif from the Galaxy S III and cryptic clues, which translate into something to the tune of “something small to make it big” and “small is now a big hit.” Earlier, it was thought that Samsung would launch some music offering but these clues indicate it could be the Galaxy S III Mini instead. Samsung has slashed the price of the Galaxy S III yet again and it is now available for Rs 34,900. This is the third major price drop the phone has received after its launch in June. Samsung had launched the Galaxy S III at a street price of Rs 42,500 but its price dropped to Rs 38,900 within a week after the launch. Samsung in launching the 32GB variant of the Galaxy S III in India for a cool Rs 41,500. The phone has been listed on the company’s online store, though it is not in stock, yet. Samsung had launched the 16GB version of the Galaxy S III in India in June for Rs 43,180 and was available on its online store for Rs 42,500 at the time of launch. Samsung has announced it has sold 10 million units of the Galaxy S III globally. The news is right on cue as the company had earlier said the milestone will be achieved in July. The initial shortage of Galaxy S III units might have cost Samsung about 2 million unit sales in June alone, according to a Reuters report. It is the most high-profile and talked-about Android smartphone of 2012. Samsung did a great job of creating pre-launch hype and even pushing forward its global announcement to time it closer to the launch date. Yes, Samsung did try to execute Apple’s playbook and succeeded in doing so to a great extent. But does the Galaxy S III live up to all the hype surrounding it? The Samsung Galaxy S III goes on sale in India from tomorrow and HTC is moving the heavy boulders to ensure its One X doesn’t get bulldozed by Samsung’s martketing blitzkrieg and existing hype about the device.
