Microsoft’s Xbox 360 exclusive Gears of War Judgement has been launched in India and the standard version will retail for Rs 2,999. Gears of War Judgement is the prequel to the Gears of War trilogy and brings a number of new gameplay elements and expands on the backstory of the franchise. Sony has stopped production of the PlayStation 2 (PS2) in Japan. In the gaming world, the PS2 is an iconic console. Launched on March 4, 2000, it was amongst the first DVD-players in the world, which propelled the format into mainstream and over the last twelve years it went on and became the best selling gaming console of all-time, selling more than 150 million units worldwide. Apart from the many Xbox 360 software features Microsoft showcased a lot software material that would be hitting the console in the next twelve months. Microsoft showed off games like Halo 4, Gears of War Judgement, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Forza Horizon, South Park :The Stick of Truth, Tomb Raider, Madden 13, Fifa 13, Ascend: New Gods and Call of Duty Black Ops 2. Microsoft took the stage to kick off E3 with a bang and showed off a slew of new feature upgrades to Xbox 360 and a lot of games for its gaming console. The software giant started the conference with an extended gameplay demo of the upcoming Halo 4 game, but after that it bombarded the press with a barrage of new feature upgrades for its game console. Most probably we will get to see the final hardware of Nintendo’s next generation console, the Wii U, at E3 that opens later in June. However, CNET claims to have received a list for the launch titles for the Wii U. Citing Blockbuster UK as the source, the launch titles were captured on an archaic PC interface which is not to dissimilar to a BIOS setup screen. (more…)Google+

Nintendo will launch the 3DS web browser and eShop on June 6th during the E3 game tradeshow in Los Angeles. A post on Nintendo’s website confirms: “The Nintendo eShop will be enabled through a system update which has been announced for the evening of June 6, 2011. According to AV Watch, Sony has announced that it’s ending sales of its PSP Go portable gaming console. Sony let the wraps off of the PSP Go in June 2009, and while it is both smaller and lighter than the PSP, that comes at the cost of a UMD gaming cartridge slot. Sony has kept its PlayStation 3 sales figures close to the vest, but on Friday the company officially announced shipment figures for its popular PlayStation 3 gaming console.
