Nokia has started rolling out Windows Phone Tango update for the Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 smartphones. Nokia is expected to roll-out an update for the Lumia 800 in the coming days that will update the phone OS to Windows Phone Tango. The software build has been spotted on Nokia’s servers and bears the build version 1750.805.8773.12140.Windows Phone Tango version will finally bring Internet sharing (creating a Wi-Fi hotspot from the phone’s data connection) and enhanced MMS capabilities among other features. Nokia today announced it is rolling out yet another software update (the third update in four months, if you are keeping count) for the Lumia 800. The update (version 1600.2487.8107.12070) promises to bring significant battery performance and power management improvement to the Lumia 800 and was earlier scheduled to be released on April 18. Nokia has not had great luck with improving the smartphone’s battery performance in earlier updates, one of which simply reduced the brightness of the display. (more...

Nokia has slashed the price of Rs 23,790, according to online retailer Letsbuy. This is a 20 percent cut from its launch price of Rs 29,990. This comes after Nokia had slashed the price of the Lumia 710 by 20 percent too. At Rs 23,790, we believe the Lumia 800 is a pretty good buy if one is considering a Windows Phone device. Hot on the heels of the Lumia 900 launch at CES, it looks like Nokia is leaving no stone unturned with its Windows Phone portfolio. According to Dutch retailer TyPhone.Nl, a new smartphone, the Lumia 910, is heading towards Europe. We have received tips from multiple retailers that Nokia recalling some stock of Lumia 800 from stores in India, which we were able to confirm from Nokia India. However, it is not related to the battery issue that has been plaguing some units.
