Apple has released an iOS 6.1.4 software update that includes a minor change and is restricted to the iPhone 5 only. With this new update, Apple has updated audio profile for speakerphone, though has not mentioned anything about bug fixes and security updates which are usually seen as an important part of its software updates. Apple’s App Store is soon to touch the 50 billion download mark and the iPhone maker has posted a countdown to award a $10,000 App Store Gift Card to the person who downloads the 50 billionth app. Apple will also give away a $500 App Store Gift Card each to the next 50 customers downloading apps following the lucky winner. With Apple’s industrial designer, Jonathan Ive having taken the responsibility of designing iOS 7, reports doing the rounds on the Internet say that the upcoming OS will sport a flatter design bordering on minimalistic. The folks at 9To5Mac have now confirmed from multiple sources that iOS 7 will indeed be different to the current OS in terms of design and functionality to some extent. (more…)Google+

Apple’s World Wide Developers (WWDC) Conference happens every June and every year the tickets for the event get sold out in heartbeat. In fact, if one takes a look at the last few years, the pace at which the tickets have sold out has hastened. This year the tickets got sold out in 2 minutes. (more…)Google+

Master iPhone Jailbreaker Comex aka Nicholas Allegra has announced via Twitter that he will be interning at Google in the next few weeks. Apple has announced it will be hosting this year’s instalment of its annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 10-14 in San Francisco. Apple today announced users have downloaded over 45 billion unique apps (does not include redownloads and updates) from the App Store. This comes roughly three months after it had announced crossing the 40 billion figure in January. The company claims that app developers have made over $9 billion from selling their apps from the Store, $4.5 billion of which has come from the most recent four quarters. In January, Apple had said developers had made over $7 billion, which means that they made roughly $2 billion...

During today’s earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook was more candid than usual and teased that the company was working on some great products that will be launched in the fall and into 2014. “We’ve got a lot more surprises in the works. Apple has announced its Q2, 2013 results with $43.6 billion in revenues and a profit of $9.5 billion. Apple also announced its share buyback program by $50 billion, the biggest ever in its history. During this quarter Apple sold 37.4 million iPhones as against 47.8 million iPhones in the previous quarter and 35.1 million units in the year-ago quarter. We start the day off by adding another leaked photo to the long list of other rumors and leaks regarding Apple’s iPad 5. Apple India’s recently launched ‘buyback’ scheme for iPhone 4 may have been criticized in some quarters, but there’s no denying that the scheme has by large a huge hit in the country.
