Local Indian smartphone OEMs are getting inspired by major brands for designs and features and the trend is showing no signs of tempering. Look at Lava for instance, as it is walking on the same road and has launched Iris 504Q which offers gesture-based features, which were earlier seen on the Samsung devices. Lava seems to be quite inspired by the gesture based controls as seen on the Samsung devices. As expected, the domestic vendor is all set to launch its new smartphone named the Iris 504Q which will feature gesture controls. Lava Mobile, will soon launch a phone that will understand sign language under its Iris sub brand. According to the company, the phone will allow users to interact with the phone via the camera and user will be able to use swipe gestures to navigate the UI. This sounds distinctively like the Air Gesture feature on the Samsung Galaxy S4. (more…)Google+

Lava today launched the Etab Xtron+ tablet, which is an upgraded version of its Xtron tablet unveiled earlier this year. The company was rumored to release a new tablet with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which it claimed to be India’s first 7-inch tablet to run this operating system. However, instead of rolling out a new device Lava has chosen to cash on the popularity of Etab Xtron by launching these features on another variant of the tablet. (more…)Google+

Lava has announced the ETAB Connect tablet, which comes with voice calling capabilities and support for 3G network.
