Micromax has launched its MMX377G data card in India. The handset vendor claims it can deliver download speeds up to 14.4mbps and upload speeds up to 5.76mbps.

The data card features a plug and play setup and no installation is needed. Micromax claims it supports every service provider in the country. The MMX377G also sports a microSD card slot and can accommodate up to 32GB cards, which doubles it as a USB drive or a memory card reader.

The MMX377G is also the first 3G dongle in India to be powered by the MediaTek MT6280 HSPA+/3G modem. The MMX377G data card is available for Rs 1,699.

Speaking about the new product, Mr. Deepak Mehrotra, CEO Micromax said, “At Micromax we constantly strive to innovate and develop technologically advanced devices. With the internet penetration in the country expected to grow at a steady rate, we have tried to address the need of high speed internet usage with the launch this new dongle. Users can experience high speed internet surfing, social networking, video streaming, gaming and more all on the go with this new device.”

Earlier this month, a report claimed to have leaked information on a new Micromax device only known as the A110Q Canvas. Today Micromax has officially launched that device as the Micromax A110Q Canvas 2 Plus on its own e-store for Rs 12,100.

Staying consistent with the previously leaked information, the Canvas 2 Plus sports a 5-inch IPS (480×854 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 A7 processor and 1GB of RAM. You can also expect an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel camera at the front, 1GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 32GB using a microSD card and a 2,000mAH battery that the company claims has a standby time of 280 hours.

On the software front, the device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and connectivity-wise supports 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and USB ports. With a price point of Rs 12,100, we expect the Canvas 2 Plus to be up against the likes of the Xolo Q800 and the Karbonn S1 Titanium among others, but has a slight advantage over the others as it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

On a different note, we are worried Micromax is getting too inspired by Samsung. First with its ads and now the nomenclature of its phones!

Official Micromax leakster @MMXNewscaster has tweeted a leaked image of another Micromax device called the A92 Canvas. The tweet has a blurry photo embedded that shows the front-side of the A92 Canvas smartphone.

The smartphone in the blurry photo sports a design similar to that on the rest of the Canvas devices, featuring a large screen and three capacitive buttons. The tweet though is very light on details and all we know for now is that the device will be powered by a dual-core processor, most likely the dual-core MediaTek processor currently powering the A88 Canvas Music. There are no details on when or at what price Micromax will launch the A92 Canvas.

It is difficult to say just how authentic the above image is, but @MMXNewscaster does have as a good record when it comes to leaked images. Prior to this, @MMXNewscaster had leaked images of the  A115 Canvas 3D and the A111 Canvas, both of which turned out to be quite accurate.

Micromax had in the beginning of the year revealed its plans to launch as many as 30 handsets this year alone. Looks like the company is coming good on the promise as today it has launched the Canvas Music A88. The new member in the Canvas series has been introduced in association with JBL that is known for its audio products worldwide, and thus comes with a free JBL Tempo headset. The music oriented phone will be available in the market from tomorrow for Rs 8,499.

On the specifications front, the smartphone features a 4.5-inch touchscreen instead of the 5-inch one seen in the other Canvas phones. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, carries a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz and comes with an expandable storage capacity of up to 32GB.  There is a 1,800-mAh battery which promises a talk time of 5 hours. The rear of the phone sports a 5.0-megapixel camera with flash and the front has a 0.3-megapixel camera. Considering that it is targeted at the music enthusiasts, Micromax is claiming to offer unlimited songs downloads for free via the MLive! application.

The phone will compete against the likes of the Xolo A700 and Karbonn A21 which are also available with dual-core processors, 4.5-inch displays and other similar features in this price bracket.

A month back we reported about a set of leaked images which supposedly belonged to a mid-range phone called Micromax Canvas A111. The smartphone has now been discreetly listed on e-commerce site under the name Micromax Canvas Doodle A111 and is available for Rs 12,999.

In terms of specifications, the dual-SIM Canvas Doodle A111 sports a 5.3-inch capacitive display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8225Q processor and 512MB of RAM. Other features included on the phone are an 8-megapixel rear camera, VGA camera at the front, 1.22GB internal memory that can be expanded to up to 32GB using a microSD card and a 2,100mAH battery.

The phone according to the picture put up on the online retail stores will come bundled with a stylus, though the photos don’t show where it can be fit into. On the software front, the device runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Micromax seems to be on a spree recently, launching devices in its Canvas range with a frequency not generally associated with the Indian mobile vendor. Earlier today, we reported about the A120 Canvas HD Pro that was spotted online and now it seems Micromax is developing another Canvas device called the A110Q Canvas, DroidExtra reports.

Not a lot of information is available on the device, except that the A110Q Canvas is expected to sport a 5-inch FWVGA display and is likely to be powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 A7 processor. The only other piece of information currently available is that the phone will be running on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

The A110Q Canvas will join other Canvas devices that have either launched or leaked online like the A115 Canvas 3D and the aforementioned A120 Canvas HD Pro and the A111 Canvas that are yet to launch.

Micromax’s A116 Canvas HD has been by and large a success in India and the mobile vendor now seems to be planning on releasing its successor. The folks at Gadgetronica have stumbled upon a webpage that lists a 5.5-inch phablet called Micromax A120 Canvas HD Pro.

According to the listing, the Dual-SIM A120 Canvas HD Pro seems to sport a massive 5.5-inch Full-HD capacitive (1920×1080 pixels) display and powered by a quad-core Cortex A7 processor, PowerVR Series 5XT GPU and 2GB of RAM. The phablet also seems to include features like a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, a 3.2-megapixel camera at the front, 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card and a 3,000mAH battery. On the software side of things, the Canvas HD Pro is expected to run on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

Though there is no official price mentioned yet, the report claims that A120 Canvas HD Pro is likely to be priced around Rs 20,000 and will be launched in the later part of June or early July.

Micromax’s first 3D phone has been in the news in the past few weeks with its images and details leaked online ahead of an official launch. The Indian mobile vendor has now officially launched the Canvas 3D A115 in India for Rs 9,999.

The phone’s USP is that it supports stereoscopic 3D technology wherein a user doesn’t have to wear glasses to watch 3D content. In addition to the 3D technology, the Dual-SIM Canvas 3D A115 sports a 5-inch display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. Other features included on the phone are a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front camera, expandable memory to up to 32GB and a 2,000mAH battery.

On the software side of things, the Canvas 3D A115 runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and comes pre-loaded with 3D games and ‘Micromax 3D Space’ which is used to access 3D videos. The phone’s camera is also bundled with software that lets users convert regular pictures into the 3D images.

Micromax says that the Canvas 3D A115 will be available at retail stores in the coming days.

Micromax has done it yet again! We are not talking about its achieving some sales target but about taking another dig at Samsung’s smartphone range. Micromax has released a print advertisement mocking at the Samsung’s latest cash back and EMI schemes on mobile phones. With the advertisement, Mircomax is trying to highlight that unlike Samsung, their smartphones are easy on pocket and thus do not need consumers to buy one on EMI and other schemes.

This is not the first time that Micromax is targeting Samsung for its mobile phones as the Indian brand had earlier also spoofed the Korean giant’s previous smartphones through its advertisements. The new ad flashes Micromax’s Canvas series of phones which have gained popularity amongst the consumers for their smart features, close resemblance to Samsung’s previous flagships and affordable prices. The ad also highlights Micromax’s recently claimed sales figure of more than a million units of Canvas series.

Before Micromax started its Canvas line of smartphones, it was mostly known for its feature phones and was not considered a viable smartphone vendor. Today, the company has announced that it has sold more than a million smartphones under the Canvas sub-brand. The Canvas line of smartphones have seen exponential growth over the last few months. A lot of this momentum is due to the success of the Canvas 2 that featured a dual-core processor and a 5-inch display for sub-Rs 10,000 and the Canvas HD with its quad-core processor and a 5-inch HD display in a package costing less than Rs 15,000.

The Canvas HD was launched on February 14 (Valentine’s Day) and Micromax had revealed that it sold more than 9,000 units in less than 24 hours. The Canvas HD has remained consistently sold out in the market and a month back Micromax even had to raise its price. Micromax is now planning to launch the Canvas 3D under this series.

The timing of the announcement of this milestone could not have been more apt considering Samsung is launching the Galaxy S 4 in India tomorrow. Both Samsung and Micromax are embroiled in a hard fought battle in the mid-range smartphone market thanks to the success of the Canvas series. Samsung has tried to counter it with the Galaxy Grand and recently announced its Mega series, which is also expected to strengthen its position in the phablet market. Micromax, on the other hand, would like to pitch it as the battle of David against Goliath.

Earlier this month we had shown you a couple of leaked images of the Micromax A115 Canvas 3D which showed that the phone was ready and could be launched soon. The folks at NDTVGadgets have now confirmed through a source that the Indian mobile vendor will be launching the A115 Canvas 3D in the first week of May.

In addition to the previously reported specifications, the report has also confirmed certain specifications from the source. The A115 Canvas 3D, according to the source, will feature Dual-SIM functionality, a 1GHz dual-core processor and run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The phone will also be priced in the Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 range.

To recap on the rest of the rumored specs then, the A115 Canvas 3D is said to sport a 5-inch WVGA (800×400 pixels) display and includes features like an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel camera in the front. Besides allowing a user to watch 3D videos, the A115 Canvas 3D will use a 3D rendering software to render photographs with 3D effects.

Looks like the Canvas 3D A115 isn’t the only phone being developed by Micromax. Twitter user @MMXNewscaster, who leaked images of the Canvas 3D A115 earlier this month, has posted a set of new images which he claims belongs to a soon to be launched Micromax Canvas A111.

According to the specifications leaked, the Canvas A111 is 9.9mm thick and sports a 5.3-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display that can be used even when wearing gloves. The phone is expected to be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8225Q processor and 512MB of RAM and will include features like an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel camera at the front, 4GB of internal memory, a 2,100mAH battery and also include 3D graphics accelerator and ambient light sensor among others. On the software side of things, the Canvas A111 is expected to run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

There is currently no word on when or at what price Micromax will launch the Canvas A111 at, but @MMXNewscaster does mention that the phone should be priced around the Rs 15,000 region.

We recently reported that the Bolt A51 had been discreetly listed on the Micromax website and though there wasn’t a price mentioned, we expected it to be available soon. The entry-level phone has now gone on sale on online retail stores for Rs 4,599.

As reported before, the Dual-SIM Micromax Bolt A51 sports a 3.5-inch capacitive (480×320 pixels) display and is powered by an 832MHz single-core Broadcom processor and 256MB RAM. Other features included on this phone are a 2-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front camera, 512MB internal storage with a microSD slot for cards up to 32GB and a 1,500mAH battery which according to the company gives 4.5 hours of talktime and 140 hours of standby time. In terms of software the Bolt A51 runs on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread and like the Bolt A35, it too comes pre-loaded with ‘Flash Transfer’, an app that allows users to share multimedia content across other Android phones over Wi-Fi connection even when there is no data connectivity, which sounds a lot like Wi-Fi Direct.

With a price point below Rs 5,000 and a decent list of specs, the Micromax Bolt A51 should prove to be a good enough option for first time smartphone buyers and will compete against the likes of Lava Discover 132 and the Videocon V1548 among others.

As far as the features of the device go, it comes equipped with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 800×480 pixels and is powered by 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 single-core processor. It also features a 1GB RAM with 1.65GB of internal memory which is further expandable up to 32GB. The tablet sports a 2-megapixel primary snapper along with a 0.3-megapixel secondary one, and is capable of recording at VGA and playing HD videos at 1080p.  Other features in the tablet include motion sensors, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, audio-video player and a 3000mAh battery offering 180 hours of standby time. On the software front, it runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. and pre-installed applications like M! Store, Edutainment, among others.

Micromax these days seem to be choosing to keep a low profile while announcing its new phones. After the recently reported Micromax Ninja A91 being spotted selling on an e-commerce portal, we now have the Micromax A72 Canvas Viva, which surfaced on Snapdeal. The phone is a part of the popular Canvas series which included phones like Canvas HD A116 and Canvas 2 A110.

Like all the previous models in the Canvas series, this phone also fall in the wide screen range of phones and carries a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 480×800 pixels resolution. Under the hood is a 1GHz single-core processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which looks pretty old fashioned especially knowing that the recent Canvas phones feature Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Also, the phone does not support 3G, which is again a letdown.

The Canvas Viva A72 measures 142.8x76x10.6mm and weighs 186g. Other features in the phone include a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and microUSB, and 256MB RAM, 110MB internal memory and up to 32GB of expandable memory with microSD. It also has a 2000mAh battery, which offers 7 hours of talk time and 280 hours of standby time.

The Micromax A72 Canvas Viva is not as equipped as other members in the series; however it is the cheapest amongst all. It is available for Rs 6,999 on Snapdeal, which claims to deliver it in two days from purchase.
