Admittedly with Windows Phone 8, users of the Microsoft OS will have access to Nokia Maps; nonetheless it is a nice alternative especially for Indians as MapMyIndia boasts of the most exhaustive map data in India. MapMyIndia launches the CarPad5, an Android tablet-cum-GPS for Rs 19,990

MapMyIndia has launched the CarPad 5, which is an 5-inch Android powered hybrid which doubles as a GPS navigator, a phone and a 3G tablet. The CarPad 5 sports a 5-inch capacitive display, a 1GHz single-core processor made by Samsung, 4GB of storage memory and also has built-in 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. MapMyIndia will unveil its brand new Android based in-dash navigation systems at the AutoExpo to be held in New Delhi. The devices will be Internet connected and will enable users to browse the web on the go. MapmyIndia launches CarPad [IndiaOn]

MapmyIndia today launched its CarPad, a 7-inch Android tablet that has been customized for use inside a car. The CarPad comes with car seat headrest and windshield docks for use on both the front and back seats. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S1 processor and comes with GPS, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.
