Facebook co-founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, today announced he and wife Priscilla have contributed 18 million Facebook shares to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. This amounts to nearly $500 million ($498.8 to be precise) on today’s closing price of $27.71. The Foundation will focus in areas in education and health. (more…)Google+

Facebook announced its first-ever quarterly earnings after its IPO with $1.18billion revenues, which was on expected lines. To say Facebook CEO has had a life-altering weekend is an understatement. A day after taking his company public in the largest tech IPO ever, Zuckerberg married his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan. Facebook on Wednesday formally filed documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in its first step toward an upcoming initial public offering. Facebook said it is looking to raise $5 billion with its IPO, which has been eagerly anticipated by the Street and by investors. Call it ironic but Facebook co-founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, is apparently the most popular Google+ user with over 21,000 followers. Now we know why Mr. Zuckerberg has been hanging out at Google+ – Facebook is about to unveil some new features next week. Reuters is reporting that the world’s largest online social network is likely to launch some mobile or tablet related features and quotes Zuckerberg that it would be ‘something awesome’.
