The next iPhone, reportedly scheduled to be launched in October, will sport a 3.95-inch display with a higher resolution than the current iPhone 4S. 9to5Mac is reporting that Apple is currently testing two models of the iPhone with a 640×1136 pixel display. While this would ensure that the display remains Retina quality but this would also change the aspect ratio. Since the first iPhone’s launch, Apple has gone with a 3.5-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. If the report is indeed correct, this c...

By the time you read this post, I’d probably be on a plane to London to get my hands on the Galaxy S III. This is by far the most anticipated smartphone (apart from THAT other fruity one) and so far Samsung has done a pretty good job of keeping it a secret. We are hearing that within Samsung too only a handful of people know what the phone looks like, primarily on a need to know basis. The few leaks that have happened so far show the phone in testing cases and there has been not one leak that shows the ...

What do we have here? Had we not known any better, we would have called it the weirdest contraption we have ever seen in our lives on a cellphone, leave alone a smartphone on which rests Intel’s mobile aspirations. This is the battery compartment of the Lava XOLO X900, which according to the product box is manufactured by Intel Semicon. However, if you ask us, this would be the crappiest thing we have ever seen. It even beats the cheap Shanzai phones we get in grey markets. (more…)Google+

Nokia blew the pants off everyone at this year’s MWC when it announced the 808 PureView with its mind-numbing 41-megapixel camera sensor. We checked out the device ourselves recently and pretty convinced it is the best camera we have seen on a smartphone ever and might even choose it over a high-end stand alone point-and-shoot camera. However, the 808 has a shortcoming – it runs on Symbian, a dated OS that just cannot compete with iOS, Android or Windows Phone OS. At MWC, Nokia had said it will br...
