Windows 8 Pro retail package to cost $199 after $69.99 promotion expires: Report

While we have known for some time that the upgrade path from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro will cost $39.99, a stand-alone copy of Windows 8 Pro is going to cost $199, reports TheVerge. Microsoft will offer the Windows 8 Pro retail package for $69.99 till January 31, 2013 but it will start charging $199 after the promotion expires. (more…)Google+

Upgrade to Windows 8 Pro to cost $39.99 says Microsoft

Microsoft has announced that any computer running Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 will be eligible for a $39.99 update to Windows 8 Pro through download that will be available in 131 countries.  Microsoft will even add the Media Center bundle in add-on package. (more…)Google+

Intel details specifications for Windows 8 tablets: Report

With the consumer release of Windows 8 only months away, Intel has released technical specifications for Intel powered Windows 8 tablets. According to CNET, Intel is saying Windows 8 tablets will run on Atom Z2760 “Clover Trail” chips, which will be dual-core capable with “burst mode” (for quick bursts of performance when needed) and will have Hyperthreading enabled.
