Samsung has brought everything at IFA besides the kitchen sink. It has come all guns blazing, with hero products like the Galaxy Note II, the ATIV S Windows Phone and the Android based Galaxy Camera. Adding to its kitty, it has announced the ATIV Tab which runs on Windows RT, which basically is an offshoot of Windows 8, tailored to run on ARM based processors. (more…)Google+

Microsoft has opened registrations for the very enticing $14.99 Windows 8 upgrade for people who purchased a PC between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013. Registrations will remain open till 28 February 2013. Those who purchased a PC before June 2 will be available for $39.99 upgrade, which again is much cheaper than a full blown copy of Windows. Microsoft has announced that any computer running Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 will be eligible for a $39.99 update to Windows 8 Pro through download that will be available in 131 countries. Microsoft will even add the Media Center bundle in add-on package. (more…)Google+

MSI joined the Windows 8 party after Acer and Asus at Computex by launching its Slider S20 UltraBook based on Intel’s Letexo sliding UltraBook design. In fact, it becomes the first of its kind UltraBook and combines all this design finesse with Intel’s Ivy Bridge chip and Windows 8. (more…)Google+

Can it be for real? By the looks of it, Asus is teasing a dual boot Windows 8 and Android device which most probably be a tablet for Computex, which starts on Monday. The video released by Asus indicated the new Windows 8 Metro logo along with the green Android logo line up side by side and Asus slips in tag lines of endless possibilities and ‘All-in-one no longer one’. Windows 8 tablets running on Intel’s Clover processor will start shipping in November this year, CNET reports. The report also says that tablets will make a small chunk of the Windows 8 user base as more than 50 percent of the new Windows 8 based hardware will be of a hybrid form factor consisting of a touch-screen display and a full keyboard. However, these devices are expected to run Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge CPU which has been built on a 22nm process. (more…)Google+
