Micromax smartphone biz head quits, probably headed to Oppo

Micromax's smartphone business head, Ajay Sharma, has quit the company, BGR India has learnt. Sharma had joined Micromax in December 2011 from HTC, where he was heading the Taiwanese smartphone vendor's India ops. No bonus for Nokia’s handset biz employees even as Elop pockets $25 million for Microsoft sale

Nokia has decided not to give any performance bonus to its employees from the devices and services unit for 2013, BGR India has exclusively learnt. The news was posted on Nokia's intranet on Friday. The company cited that "the business did not meet the threshold on operating profitability, which was to at least break even." This is the same division that Nokia has sold to Microsoft and is expecting the deal to close in this quarter itself, according to statements issued in Nokia's Q4 2013 results. Apple to relaunch iPhone 4 8GB in India for Rs 22,900

Apple is indeed relaunching the iPhone 4 in India as reported earlier this week. However, Apple has priced the smartphone, which was launched in 2010 and discontinued a couple of months ago, at an MRP of Rs 22,900 and not Rs 15,000, BGR India has learnt from sources at Apple's distributor partners. Sony to launch Xperia Z1 aka Honami in India on September 18

The buzzmaker of IFA, the Sony Xperia Z1 (Honami), will launch in India in September 18 at an event in New Delhi, sources have told BGR India.
