Jam City, the publisher of one of the latest games from the Harry Potter franchise, “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery” has announced the arrival of pets in the game. According to a report by Newsweek, the publisher announced this new feature which will allow players “to adobe one or more” pets in the game. This introduces an essential part of the Harry Potter franchise in the game and as noted by Jam City, “a beloved part of life at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.” Players can choose between an Owl, Rat, Toad, or a Cat as their pet to join them in their adventure.
The publisher noted that players “can own up to four pets” with one of each kind in the game. The pets will nap and stay in their house dormitory of the players and users can equip one pat at a time to join them on the grounds of Hogwarts and at nearby locations. This addition is not purely cosmetic as “pets provide players with an energy boost” when the player awakes the pet from sleep. According to the report, users need to update their game to the latest version to get Android and the pets are available in the Wardrobe menu.

Players can purchase pets for diamonds. A frog costs 160 diamonds, a cat is available for 215 diamonds, an owl for 320 diamonds, and a rat for 160 diamonds. Users who have completed Year One can purchase any of the four pets and the ones who have not completed Year One have more limited options.
Once the player has purchased a pet, it offers free energy points throughout the day, similar to hidden energy items in the game. The report pointed out that to gain free energy points, the player needs to keep a tab on when their pet is sleeping and tap on the pet to get the points once the pet is sleep.
