Nvidia is holding ‘GeForce Gaming Celebration’ at Gamescom 2018 with ‘spectacular surprises’

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1180 is expected to come with 3,584 CUDA cores clocked from 1.6 to 1.8 GHz and up to a massive 16GB GDDR6 memory.

Nvidia has teased about ‘some spectacular surprises’ that the American technology and graphics processing unit (GPU) giant is planning to reveal in the near future. The company announced that it is holding a “GeForce Gaming Celebration” event at the upcoming Gamescom 2018 in Germany. This gaming expo is set to kick off from August 21 on till August 25 and it is considered to be “world’s biggest” gaming exhibition. The company added that “GeForce will loom large” at the exhibition there which is likely to be a hint about the things to come.

According to the company, the event is set to take place on August 20 and will include “new, exclusive” games about with “hands-on demos.” It is expected that the company is planning to launch its next generation of GPUs including the much anticipated GeForce GTX 1180. According to a report by The Verge, the company had initially scheduled a talk with the title ‘NVIDIA’s Next Generation Mainstream GPU’. This new GPU is expected to be based on a new Turing architecture. Though, the company CEO, Jensen Huang added that the next generation of GeForce GPUs is “a long time from now,” but we have observed teasers and conversations around the GTX 11 series on the internet.

As pointed out in the report, the GTX 1180 is expected to come with 3,584 CUDA cores clocked from 1.6 to 1.8 GHz. The card is likely to pack up to a massive 16GB GDDR6 memory. Similar to previous generations, the GTX 1180 is expected to bring the usual performance improvements.

As pointed out in the report, this new generation of GPUs is expected to run the latest games on displays as large as a 27-inch panel with 144Hz refresh rate, HDR, G-Sync support as well that 4K resolution. There new and large gaming monitors are expected to be priced at $2,000 and they will need the latest that Nvidia has to offer to run these games.
