Pokémon GO players get an extra cheer ahead of this month’s Community day, as Niantic and the Pokemon Company bring back the “Eggstravaganza” event. This event was initially introduced to facilitate players to hatch eggs quicker, have a chance to get rarer Pokemons, and also get some extra bonuses for the duration of the event.
The event begins on March 22, and will continue until April 2 that happens to be the day the legendary Pokemon Lugia is taken out of the game. During the event, Pokemons that are typically found in the 5km and 10km eggs, can be found in the 2km eggs. And Pokemons like Pichu and Togepi that are rare ones among the 2 km variants can also be found more frequently.
Besides these, players will get extra candies from the eggs that they hatch during this time along with extra Stardust. The in-game shop will feature special boxes that contain Super Incubators, Star Pieces, and other things during the event.
Lugia rejoined the game earlier this month after the run as a Raid Battle Boss last summer. The legendary Pokemon now has a new and “improved” Flying type move called the Sky Attack. Niantic has also made Lugia easier to catch if players actually manage to defeat it.
In the upcoming weekend, Niantic is going to host the third instalment of the Community Day event on March 25. The Community Day event typically runs for three hour blocks, and have a feature Pokemon. This time around the feature Pokemon is Bulbasaur, the classic starter Pokemon from the original Red and Blue series. If players can evolve their Bulbasaurs to Venasaurs during the event time they will earn the special Grass-type attack called Frenzy Plant.
