Last month, Xiaomi announced MIUI 9.5 Global Stable ROM based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat for 30 devices. The company also said that the update will be available for these devices by end of April. While the OTA update has reached some devices, like the Redmi Note 5 and some Redmi Note 4 devices, the flashable ROMs are now available to download from the Mi Community.
The new MIUI 9.5 Global Stable ROM brings security updates, bug fixes, and iPhone X-like gesture control features for Xiaomi smartphones with full screen displays. These include the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi MIX 2. The MIUI 9.5 Global Stable ROM is also available for devices like Redmi Note 3, Redmi 5A, Redmi 4A, Mi Max 2, Redmi 4, Redmi 3S, Mi Max, and Mi Max Prime.
There are two ways to flash the MIUI ROM on your compatible Xiaomi devices – via Updater app or via Fastboot mode. While the Fastboot mode flashing is a little tricky and might brick your smartphone, we will look at an easier way, which is to install it using the updater app.

How to flash MIUI 9.5 ROM using the Updater app
To begin with, head over to Mi Community thread here – c.mi.com/thread-860054-1-0.html, and scroll down to find the ROM for your device.
For instance, if you own a Redmi 5A, you will see two links as seen in the image above. Click on the first link that says Recovery ROM.
Once downloaded, copy the .zip file on the internal storage (main directory, and not in any folder).
Now, head over to Tools folder on your Xiaomi device, and open the Updater app. Tap on the three dots on the top right corner and select Update package.
It will open the file manager, just scroll down to select the .zip file that you earlier transferred to the root of internal storage, and tap on OK.
The updater app will check for errors and setup the installation. Once complete, tap on “Reboot and Update”. After the installation is complete, your device will reboot with the updated MIUI 9.5 ROM. (Do note, your smartphone may reboot a couple of times in the process during the installation)
