The government has been heavily stressing on the importance of having an Aadhaar card. Besides logging your biometrics, the Aadhaar card also serves as an address and identity proof that you need to submit in schools, colleges, at your job, and also to avail gas subsidy. For those who have not applied for an Aadhaar card, it is high time to get one right away.
Then there are scenarios where your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, there is a mismatch in your name or date of birth, or you have a change in address. Also, for girls, they need to get their name changed after marriage. For these critical things, there is no way to change online, as the biometric authentication is required to change details. To make these changes, you’ll have to head over to the Aadhaar enrolment center near your area, and it is easy to find one online.
3 ways to locate Aadhaar enrolment center online
With over 25,000 Aadhaar enrolment centers across India, including banks and post offices, and locating one near your area is pretty simple. There are three ways you can locate them – search by state, pin code or using the search box. To begin with, head over to UIDAI’s website here, and then click on locate enrolment and update centers. Let’s take a look at how to go about it.
Search by state
After you click on the enrolment and update centers link, you will see three options with a radio button. Click on State, and then from the dropdown menu, select your state, followed by district, sub-district and village town city, if any. There is also an optional check box, in case you are only looking for permanent centers.
Lastly, there is a ‘captcha’ where you need to enter the verification code and click on search. It will then show the list of all the Aadhaar centers in that locality, along with their address and phone numbers.
Search by Pin Code
The second option is to search using a pin code. Steps are more or less similar, where you enter pin code of your area in the given box, followed by verification code and then click on search.
Along with the name of contact person, phone number and address, you also have an icon, clicking on which the location will be shown on Google Maps.
Using Search Box
In case you are not sure about the pin code or address, you can still look for nearby Aadhaar enrolment centers using the search box.
In the search box, you can enter city or the name of the locality, followed by the verification code and click on search.
The relevant results along with the map will then be displayed on the screen.
