HTC Butterfly to launch in India with an MRP of Rs 49,900
HTC is going launch the Butterfly in India in the next two-three weeks, which was unveiled in the US as the Droid DNA. AndroidOS reported that the device would hit India in two weeks at a price of Rs 44,000 but we have confirmed that the device will launch at an MRP of Rs 49,900, which will make it the highest priced Android smartphone in India. Of course, the street price would be much lower than the MRP and closer to what AndroidOS reported.
HTC is yet to receive shipments for the product and are expected to arrive in the next two-three weeks and that’s when the company will launch the product.
The device notably will also become the first device to enter the Indian market with a 1080p display. As far as the feature set is concerned the Butterfly will the deliver the best of the best.
It will have a 5-inch S-LCD 3 display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, a 8.1-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, a dedicated HTC Image Sense chip, Beats Audio with an built-in pre-amplifier, a 2,020 mAh battery and it will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with a topping of HTC’s Sense UI.
Things are about to get interesting as Sony is also expected to launch the Xperia Z in a few months and specs wise the Butterfly compares very competitively in front of the Xperia Z.

If HTC really want to market this product in India than they should pitch it in near Note 2 range otherwise they will not able to sell even 1000 units.
Killer specs poor pricing and HTC is certainly not Apple to have a fan following who are willing to pay that much.
Definitly a miss. No justification for such high pricing!!
This phone has the potential to be one if the market leaders. Htc needs to price it around 35-37k for this device to succeed
When the One X+ is retailing at 38k+, how do you expect HTC to launch this at 37k…, it always been about margins, the main reason for them not to grow anywhere in the world…would have loved to get my hands on this but will skip this if its priced above 40k…Note 2 has a hell lot of features than HTC phones…
When people are talking about dropping market share for iPhones . HTC should think about there share which will definitely going down with such pricing
Just One big con of this phone- RIDICULOUS PRICE!
