HTC One S now available in India for Rs 36,157 [update]

Even as we wait for HTC to officially launch the One S in India, online retailer Infibeam has jumped the gun and is already retailing it for Rs 36,157. We are not sure about the logic behind this pricing considering the One X is available for Rs 36,099 on the same store.

UPDATE: Our reader, Venky, points out the One S is available for Rs 33,000 on Saholic.

The One S features a 4.3-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) AMOLED display, a 1.7GHz Qualcomm S3 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a 8-megapixel rear and VGA front camera. HTC had earlier announced it will launch the One S with Qualcomm’s S4 processor, which had comparable, if not better, performance than Nvidia’s Tegra 3 and Samsung’s Exynos Quad processors, both running four cores. However, it is launching it with an S3 processor in India and some other markets, due to a supply shortage from Qualcomm.

Mind you, this is not the official pricing revealed by HTC and we are still keeping our fingers crossed.

The one listed on infibeam seems to be with S4 processor as processor speed mentioned is 1.5 GHz. Same is the case with the listing on Saholic (mentioned processor Qualcomm MSM8260A Snapdragon).

Dont buy now, wait for the official announcement .That will clear whether it is 1.5 or 1.7. i think it will be 1.7 since whole asia including china, singapore got 1.7 and i dont think htc has got brains to release 1.5 in india to increase their sales figures.I would love to buy if 1.5 is released in india but the chances are nil so better go for htc one x or samsung s2 .

It is definitely 1.7 GHz. It is mentioned on the HTC India websites.

Online retailers are copying product information page blindly from international sources..pity!

Looks not worth the price even if it retail around 33-32K. In addition storage would be a problem since available memory would not be more than 12GB
