The HTC Sensation aka the Pyramid has just gone official. The Taiwanese handset vendor has launched its new flagship smartphone during an event in London.
The HTC Sensation is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone based on a 1.2 Ghz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It has a massive 4.3 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display protected by the scratch-proof gorilla glass, sports an 8.0 MP camera with dual LED flash and a front facing VGA camera and records high-def videos at 1080p. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 3.0, micro USB port for MHL support for HDMI out and DLNA, Wi-Fi and HSDPA.
The HTC Sensation comes with the latest version of the HTC Sense UI and the HTC Watch. The new HTC Sense includes active lockscreen that allows users to quickly jump to the most used features, like making a phone call, sending an email, taking a picture with the same quick gesture usually used to unlock the phone. The HTC Watch app puts an entire library of the latest movies and TV shows and also offers the choice of renting or buying videos. If purchased, videos can be watched on up to five different HTC devices.
The HTC Sensation will first be available with Vodafone across its key European markets and will hit Asian markets in Q2 this year. No word on the pricing yet but we wouldn’t be surprised if it carries a tag of upwards of Rs 30,000.
