Earlier this week, we reported about HTC allegedly working on a phablet avatar of the HTC One. While the report had very few details except its codename— T6, a new report by @evleaks on TheUnlockr has for the first time revealed the specifications and a few details of the device.
The report claims that the HTC T6 sports a 5.9-inch full-HD 1080p display and will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, which is an indication that it will be more powerful than the One.
Other expected features include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an UltraPixel rear camera with optical stabilization, 2.1-megapixel front camera with a wide-angle lens and a 3,300mAh battery.
On the software side of things, the report says that the phablet will run on Android Key Lime Pie, which is a bit debatable since the next version of Android is said to be Jelly Bean 4.3. As expected, the OS will be wrapped around a new version of HTC Sense, which will be optimized for the phablet’s bigger display.
Specifications and features aside, it is what HTC plans to bundle with the phablet that is quite interesting. According to the report, HTC plans to try and defeat Samsung in its own game by bundling pen-styled stylus with the phablet. Additionally, HTC is also integrating a sort of biometric scanner at the back of the device with the ability to unlock the device as soon as you pick up the phone. If this feature is to see the light of the day, it could be the death of the lock screen as we know it.
Finally, the T6 is also reported to get a bundled power-jacket, which along with protecting the display will also include an additional 1,250mAh of battery to complement the already available 3,300mAh on the device.
