Indian smartphone vendor Lava is teasing its yet to be launched Iris X1 smartphone with Android 4.4 Kitkat to be launched under Rs 8,000. The teaser poster has been revealed a day before the launch of Motorola’s Moto E, which too is expected to boast Android KitKat and will be priced below Rs 10,000.
As far as the specifications of the Iris X1 are concerned, the phone will come with a 4.5-inch display against the 4.3-inch display of the Moto E. Lava has also mentioned that its newbie will come with an 8-megapixel camera, while Moto E will most likely sport a 5-megapixel primary camera. The company has not mentioned any other specifications detail about the Iris X1.
While local Indian vendors already have smartphones with better specs than the Moto E, the influx of Android KitKat running devices will hit other tier one players like Samsung and Sony, which won’t have competing smartphones in the sub-Rs 10,000 price point.
