Moto G available online in India for Rs 15,137, but there is nothing official about it

The day Motorola launched the Moto G; word got out that a dual-SIM variant will be launched in India sometime in January. Though it is expected to be launched sometime next month, the Moto G has already arrived in the country — sort of. The 8GB and 16GB variants of the device are listed on Indian e-commerce site ShopYourWorld for Rs 15,137 and Rs 17,089 respectively.

In case you’re wondering how the online retailer has managed to start selling the device ahead of a launch, it is because they are importing the device from abroad, adding the relevant taxes to the price and selling it. This deal is strictly for the impatient folks, considering it won’t have any official Motorola warranty in India. The site mentions 10-14 days as the shipping time.

On the specifications front, the Moto G sports a 4.5-inch 720p display, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8/16GB internal memory variants. Other features include a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front facing camera and a 2,070mAh battery that Motorola claims to provide all day long battery backup.

It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Motorola promising Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade by January and the device is also said to have internal and external nano coating for water splash resistance.
