Alleged photo of Nokia Bandit aka Lumia 1520 surfaces, confirms bigger display
Following a number of rumors, Nokia’s first Windows Phone phablet – the Bandit aka Lumia 1520 – has been spotted in its first purported photo leaked by Windows Phone Central. With this device, the Finnish company is expected to mark an entry in to the Windows Phone-based phablet segment most likely on September 26, when it is also speculated to unveil the Sirius, its Windows 8 RT tablet.
The photo shows the Bandit kept aside the Lumia 1020 in order to compare the size, which shows that the phablet will come with a huge display, most likely 6-inch 1080p display, and will don a polycarbonate plastic-based design pattern as seen on other Nokia Lumia models to maintain ubiquity across Nokia’s Lumia product line. Another interesting point to notice is that the home screen will now come with three columns with a double wide tile placed adjacent to a medium sized tile in a row. This confirms that the phablet will run on the Windows Phone 8.1 with GDR3 which brings support for 1080p displays.
The photo only exposes the front of the phablet, and thus does not confirm the rumored 20-megapixel PureView camera on the rear. The phablet is also expected to house a quad-core Snapdragon CPU to ensure a smooth performance on the device.
