The Nokia 808 PureView was perhaps the device that polarized opinion at the Mobile World Congress earlier in the year. It touted the most innovative camera ever seen in a smartphone with a controversial 41-megapixel resolution, but unfortunately it ran Nokia Belle – A dying platform. Frankly, we longed for a device that combined the suave industrial design and interface of the Nokia Lumia series and coupled it with a PureView camera.
Looks like this yearning of ours might come true if Chinese website IT168 report is legit. The website has posted a wacky image of a Nokia Lumia PureView, which could also be a concept design. The image suggests a curvaceous design with multiple colors and a large PureView camera sensor protruding from rear-end of the device.
Besides this, the render image also suggests a couple of tech specs such as a 4.3-inch High Definition display, a dual-core processor (Presumably a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 pro), a Adreno 320 GPU, the very same 41-megapixel sensor from the PureView 808 and of course Windows Phone, though version number of the OS has not been mentioned.
While the image definitely is a departure from Nokia’s traditional design language, this could be a fanboy render. Having said this, Nokia has already signaled that it intends to bring PureView camera technology to its Windows Phone portfolio and considering the large image sensor requirements of the PureView technology this could perhaps be one of the concepts Nokia is working on.
