Earlier this year at the MWC, Nokia unveiled the 220, which is the company’s most affordable Internet ready device. Today, the pocket-friendly device has gone on sale in India and is available on Nokia’s India store for Rs 2,749.
Design-wise it is a bit old school with a candy-bar form factor with dimensions of 99.5×58.6×13.2 mm, weighing in at 89.3 grams and boasts a dust-proof and splash-proof keypad. As far as specifications are concerned, the 220 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA (320 x 240 pixel) LCD display and includes features like 2-megapixel rear camera, Flashlight, FM Radio, expandable memory up to 32GB, and a 970mAh battery that the company claims is good enough for 15 hours of talktime and 24 days on standby mode.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slot, 2G support, Bluetooth 3.0, and on the software front it comes preloaded with apps like Facebook, Twitter, Nokia’s Xpress web browser and has Bing as its default search engine. The device is available in black, red, yellow and white color variants, though only the black variant is currently in stock.
