Today Nokia “launched” the Lumia 1020 in India and announced it will be available in the market from October 11 onwards without announcing its price. But that isn’t stopping HomeShop18 from announcing that the Lumia 1020 will go for pre-order on its website on October 1 and interested buyers can book their unit by paying an advance of Rs 5,000.
Nokia has indicated that the Lumia 1020 will cost close to Rs 50,000 or $800 depending on the exchange rate. The Lumia 1020 features a groundbreaking 41-megapixel camera that has a 6-element lens, optical image stabilization, a xenon flash and a f/2.2 aperture. Nokia uses a method called oversampling to produce 5-megapixel images with the detail of the 41-megapixel sensor. This also allows the company to provide lossless digital zoom.
Other features of the Lumia 1020 include a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus CPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, a 2,000mAh battery, NFC and a 4.5-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels. It also has a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera. It runs on Windows Phone 8 and comes pre-loaded with custom Nokia experiences like Pro Camera, Smart camera, Here Maps, CityLens, Nokia Music, MixRadio and the Xpress Browser.
