Nokia Lumia 1320 phablet and Lumia 525 smartphone launched for Rs 23,999 and Rs 10,399 in India

Nokia today has launched the Lumia 1320 phablet and the Lumia 525 smartphone in India for Rs 23,999 and Rs 10,399 respectively. Last month the company had announced plans to launch the two devices in India in January.

On the features front, the Lumia 1320 is Nokia’s second phablet after the Lumia 1520, to don a 6-inch display with 720p resolution. The phablet comes equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor ticking at 1.7GHz, and paired with 1GB of RAM. In addition to that, it has 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card along with 7GB of free cloud storage. The mid-range phablet supports a 5-megapixel rear camera as well. Talking of the software, it offers Windows Phone 8 with Lumia Black update out of the box, and accommodates a third column of tiles on the homescreen due to its bigger display. At this price point, it will compete against the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Grand 2.

The Lumia 525, on the other hand, is a low-budget smartphone and is essentially the successor of the company’s popular Lumia 520 model. The only difference beteen the two is the RAM, which has been doubled to 1GB from 512MB. Rest of the features like a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display, 1GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 8GB of expandable internal storage and a 1,430mAh battery remain the same. Connectivity options include 3G support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and A-GPS. Software-wise, like the Lumia 1320, the Lumia 525 too runs on Windows Phone 8 with Lumia Black update.
