Nokia Lumia 510 launched with Windows Phone 7.8 out of the box
Nokia is launching the Lumia 510 in India with Windows Phone 7.8 running out of the box. We have a Lumia 510 with Windows Phone 7.8 and we can confirm it offers most of the new experiences that come with the Windows Phone update. The biggest one of these updates is the new homescreen in which tiles can be resized to three different sizes, just like Windows Phone 8. Windows Phone 7.8 also brings the functionality to share files over Bluetooth, a ringtone maker app and many more add-ons. It will also have the new camera lenses that Nokia is providing to all Lumia smartphones as part of the update.
The Lumia 510 is the only smartphone to get Windows Phone 7.8 in India. However, at the moment Windows Phone 7.8 update won’t be available as an OTA update to existing users and will only be available to those who buy the smartphone with the new OS out of the box. Microsoft had earlier announced it will provide Windows Phone 7.8 update to existing users in early 2013. Something tells us that the update roll-out is not very far off!

It had 7.5 out of box so 7.8 is it now selling I mean which month does the box have?
I want to know whether usb mass storage mode is supported in windows phone 7.8 update or not

The 7.8 update is now available for all lumia handset. I got a call from Nokia NPD employee. he told me to go to nokia care on Monday to update my 610 to wp7.8. he already updated his lumia to 7.8 and told me its nice.

Murali 160 days agoI have already downloaded windows 7.8 to my 510,You can just download Nokia care suite and connect ur mobile and it automatically detect 7.8 version and it will refurbish ur mobile to 7.8 version

To All using Nokia Lumia Devices,
WP7.8 is indeed available for entire Lumia Series for India Region plus they have enabled all features only for APAC Region. Many people in Western regions have reported no change after flash to 12460 Build Version however Indian Region has Bluetooth Transfer, Ringtone App, 20 New Tile Colors, Resize Live Tiles etc. USB Mass Storage is not there and neither was promised so have to wait and watch on this one. As for others just simply google and download Nokia Care Suite which is different from Nokia PC Suite & Nokia Suite. To all idiots who are taking this as a joke-” Ask for help or learn something rather than posting your crap”
A side note that you can’t take back up and this will format your phone so only stuff that can be synced to cloud can be backed up!

vishvak 117 days agokindly provide a link for the nokia care suite download as i am not able to find any. google only turns up links for nokia suite and nokia pc suite both of which, as you said, are not for the lumia devices…
Wonderful post. Can you confirm how many memory will be left on the Lumia 510 on WP 7.8 handset, as I heard among 4GB internal Memory, only 1.7GB will be left for the user to use on WP 7.5.
So I’m just wondering the new WP 7.8 updated phone will have any memory left to use. :)
