Nokia Lumia 920 has hit 2.5 million orders worldwide: Report

If a report by the Shanghai Securities News is to be believed then Nokia has a winner in the making with the Lumia 920. The report states that Nokia has managed 2.5 million orders worldwide which is a number higher than what the entire Lumia range sold in Q3.

According to the report the device is already sold out in the US, Germany and Australia and is doing rather well. That said, Nokia is yet to launch the Lumia 920 in India and it might not unveil the device in the country until next year.

The Lumia 920 unlike the Lumia 900 and the Lumia 800 has a lot of things going for it. It has the new Windows Phone 8 OS, a new dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, a new 1280×768 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display and its new revolutionary 8.7-megapixel PureView camera that uses floating lens tech that enables impressive low-light performance. In addition to this the Lumia 920 also has wireless charging built-in.

Giving more cadence to this news is the fact that Nokia’s stock price went up yesterday by 25 percent. While these numbers may not be as staggering as the iPhone 5 but nonetheless this is good news for Nokia as we are only talking about one device so the combined figures of its Windows Phone portfolio should be a lot higher if this report is true.
