Nokia to shut Ovi Share, requests users to salvage their data

Nokia has sent a polite email saying it will soon be discontinuing its Ovi Share service, which allowed users to upload photos and videos. It will be closed by May 30 and existing users won’t be able to upload any new content post March 13 and are hence requested to save their data elsewhere to avoid any loss. Nokia has justified its closure decision by saying that it will soon be revising its “services mission to focus on mobile and location based services.” While the Ovi Share service was not of such a repute that it will be badly missed but still the Finnish giant is trying to fulfill this so-called loss and has consequently promised to bring us some “fresh and exciting services from Nokia and Location & Commerce in the future.”
