It was only yesterday when we were hearing rumors of Nokia planning to unveil a budget Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 610 along with 5 other devices. Today, grapevine is suggesting that this Tango-based handset will not only be the most affordable of the lot but will also be the most cheapest one. The Espoo-based vendor has always been vocal about the fact that its upcoming operating system Tango, due for a launch before Apollo, will support low-cost and affordable devices. By doing so, the Finnish vendor will also give a hard time to other dominant players such as Samsung, which rules primarily because of its diverse number of product portfolios in every possible price range.

Nokia decision to offer a cheaper phone in its line of Windows Phones could be a very strategic move. The main challenge facing Windows Phones right now seems to be mass adoption, and offering a less costly alternative could speed up that process. Once the company has loyal customers, people might be more compelled to buy the pricier devices.
