After leaking the first two BlackBerry 10 devices, the folks at n4bb are at it again as they have now revealed the new version of the BlackBerry Messenger app for the new platform in which the app would reportedly take full advantage of OLED displays.

The report notes that RIM is adapting a black background theme for the app, which helps enhance battery life when used in conjunction with an OLED display as OLED technology sips power very lightly while displaying blacks.

It is believed by adopting the black theme alone 25 percent gains in battery life can be attained and RIM will up the ante to 75 percent as it will optimize the black theme with OLED displays on BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
