Research In Motion is working on a music service that will tie in with BlackBerry Messenger. CNET reports that RIM will deploy a test version of its subscription-based streaming music service in the coming weeks, and that a final product will come later. BlackBerry owners will be able to share their songs with other subscribers using RIM’s BBM service, the report suggests. It’s unclear how much the BlackBerry maker plans to charge, but The Wall Street Journal said it will cost “significantly less” than similar services such as Rhapsody and Spotify, which both charge about $10 per month for premium access. RIM has already inked deals with Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, EMI and Universal Music to provide the content, according to reports.

For real RIM? Is this all you could come up with? Your devices have been lackluster at best….I think RIM is scared of alienating it’s core demographic of users….How in the hell do you have TAT with its innovative ammo in the clip but you keep shooting blanks…..TAT has shown that it has the potential to greatly improve the GUI and the user experience for the end user…So RIM this music deal you got going could work….But it won’t work if the end user experience is crap….Just think about the Moto E790 which was supposed to be THEE 1st iTunes phone….Good job on inking deals with all of those record companies though…I can’t knock that hustle…but your OS game is off…
    Thanks
