Samsung has for long been in the buzz to launch a rugged version of the Galaxy S 4 rumored as the Galaxy S 4 Active. It seems like these are not plain rumors as a set of alleged images of Active have been spotted by a tipster at GSMArena. The photos show a Samsung phone which looks quite similar to the Galaxy S 4 from the front, but sports what looks like a metallic, red and black colored frame with bolts on the back.
Samsung has been expected to launch different variants of the Galaxy S 4, one of which has been the metallic version and the other been a water and dust proof variant. Apparently, the leaked images show off the Galaxy S 4 featuring a metallic body which also is water as well as dust proof, hinting that Samsung could indeed be working on a single variant instead of the multiple rumored ones.
On the specifications front, as seen in the leaked photos, the phone is expected to feature similar features as seen in the original Galaxy S 4. It will most likely feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. It is also expected to be powered by a quad-core 1.9GHz processor with Adreno 320 GPU hinting at the Snapdragon 600 chipset. The rest of the features are expected to include a 13-megapixel camera, Android Jelly Bean amongst others. This apart the Samsung I9295 Galaxy S 4 Active as seen in the image has three hardware buttons below the screen.
Reportedly, the Galaxy S 4 Active has been showed off in Croatia which indicates that it can be released soon.
