Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch has got yet another price cut and will now retail at Rs 14,990. This is the second such price cut in a month, after Samsung slashed prices of the smartwatch from Rs 22,990 to Rs 19,075.
Samsung’s first entry into the wearable tech market left a lot to be desired and the smartwatch was panned by people everywhere. To defend itself, the company revealed why it is “insanely difficult” to make a smartwatch, while also announcing that it had sold more than 800,000 units globally since its launch.
Though the first iteration is a failure of sorts, Samsung is expected to make a much better product second time around and reports have claimed that the Galaxy Gear 2 could be unveiled as early as the MWC next month.
