Samsung has discreetly put its Wi-Fi only tablet called Galaxy Tab 2 311 on sale for Rs 13,900 on its e-store earlier today. The 7-inch tablet joins its 3G-compatible brother Galaxy Tab 2 310, which we reported was launched last year.
The specifications for the Galaxy Tab 2 311 are similar to that of the Tab 2 310, except of course for the missing 3G-capability. The tablet comes with Android Jelly Bean out of the box and sports a 7-inch TFT LCD that supports a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM and includes features like a 3-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, 16GB internal storage, microSD support for up to 32GB, USB port and a 4,000mAH battery.
The Galaxy Tab 2 311 is a decent tablet with mid-range specs and with the allure of a big-brand like Samsung. But the tablet is sure to face severe competition from other much less expensive and similar specced 7-inch tablets in the market like the Acer Iconia B1, the Asus Memo Pad 7 and the Lava Etab Xtron which was launched yesterday.
