Samsung eyes acquisitions to boost software prowess

Reuters is quoting local Korean media reports that claim Samsung’s Chairman Lee Kunhee has asked his top managers to seek measures including acquisitions to boost the company’s software prowess. The move comes as Samsung is embroiled in patent-related lawsuits with Apple and Google’s proposed acquisition of Motorola, which could affect Samsung’s position as the world’s largest Android smartphone vendor. Samsung is currently the second largest smartphone vendor.
