Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Android KitKat smartphone available on India eStore, priced at Rs 11,900


Last month, Samsung announced an affordable Android KitKat smartphone called the Galaxy Core 2. While the company has yet to officially launch the smartphone, it is available on Samsung’s India eStore priced at Rs 11,900.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Galaxy Core 2 sports a 4.5-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 768MB of RAM. Also included is 4GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone also features a 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, a 2,000mAh battery and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. As mentioned above, on the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.

With these specifications and price tag, the Galaxy Core 2 will be up against the popular Motorola Moto G, which is slightly more expensive at Rs 12,499.
