Apart from launching the Galaxy S5 in India, Samsung has also launched its range of Gear wearables. The trio include the successor to the original Gear called Gear 2, a lighter version of the device called Gear 2 Neo, and a fitness tracker aptly named Gear Fit. The Gear 2 is launched for Rs 21,900 while both the Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit will be available for Rs 15,900 each. Unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month, the three devices will put Samsung as the frontrunner in the wearables segment.

The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo run on Samsung Tizen OS and not Android Wear. Both devices are powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM. The onboard 4GB of memory enables either to be used as a standalone music player, while IrLED on the devices can be used to control TVs. A 300mAh battery powers both devices, and the 1.63-inch super AMOLED display boasts a resolution of 320×320. The Gear 2 gets a 2-megapixel camera while the lighter Gear 2 Neo doesn’t.

The Gear Fit, on the other hand, is a fitness based wearable. It comes with a built-in pedometer, accelerometer, and gyro. It has a curved 1.84-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 432×128 pixels, and a 210mAh battery. It boasts dust and water resistance, and can also show notifications for SMS, calls, emails, and apps. All three wearables come with a heart rate sensor as well.
