Samsung Galaxy S5 now available on Flipkart for Rs 43,499

Samsung might have denied it slashed the price of the Galaxy S5 in India but the fact of the matter is that its flagship Android smartphone has received an unofficial price cut over the weekend. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is now available for as low as Rs 43,499 for the white version from third-party retailers while WS Retail, which is Flipkart’s own retail front, is selling it for Rs 44,942.

samsung-galaxy-s5-price-cutOfficially, Samsung insisted earlier this week it had not slashed the price of the Galaxy S5 in India and it was still Rs 51,500, the same as the launch price. Yesterday, Samsung introduced a buyback scheme for the Galaxy S5 that offered a minimum of Rs 7,500 off if one exchanged an old smartphone and Rs 5,000 off if one brought in a feature phone. Under the scheme, the Galaxy S5 would be available at a lowest rate of Rs 44,000. Along with the buyback scheme, Samsung is also offering a voucher worth Rs 5,000 that could be redeemed against a purchase on Samsung India’s eStore.

Why spend so much money on a phone that doesn’t even support 4G?

    • msingh

Where is 4G in India? Even 3g is available in selected cities also. 90 percent area of india is without 3g coverage. So there is no point to release 4G enabled phone. S5 is a mighty king of smartphone match of this phone in the market. So go ahead and buy this phone.

You have no idea of the product you backing..! If it was for the snapdragon version then we would have accepted the price.

Even if it was the snapdragon 801 with 4g the Indian frequency is not the standard one and won’t be supported. Only iphone supports 2300mhz… The s5 octa core version is not bad as the s4 one… its quite close in performance compared to the quadcore one

Snapdragon 801 can support Indian 4G networks. The HTC One (M8) will support 4G in India in the 2300MHz band.

HTC One(M8) doesn’t support the 4G band in India (2300MHz)

The chipset supports it and HTC will soon push out a software patch that will enable it.

The octa-core version is more powerful than the Snapdragon 801
